Litchfield County Cooperative Extension Service Association

This association is a 501c(3) not for profit corporation whose mission is to “cooperate with Cooperative Extension Service of the University of Connecticut in the planning and conduct of educational programs for the improvement of agriculture, home life and youth of Litchfield County”.  The Association carries out it’s mission by lobbying for funds, conducting formal and informal needs assessments for program planning, raising monies to support programming efforts of the faculty and staff and being active advocates for extension programs in the county.

The work of the Association is carried out by a Board of Directors.  Membership on the board is open to anyone within the service area of the programs provided by the faculty & staff in the county office.  In the past this more or less limited membership to county boundaries but more recently due to consolidation of staff and the expansion of program areas outside of the traditional county boundaries, membership is open to any resident of the State of Connecticut.
